Spurs Unleash Terrifying Five-Man Unit Against Jazz
Underdog NBA reported the lineup alert on Wednesday.
The are rolling out a starting five that looks like a 2K MyLeague simulation where the salary cap was turned off. According to Underdog NBA, De', Dylan Harper, Stephon Castle, Devin Vassell, and are getting the nod on Wednesday.
That is a terrifying amount of speed, length, and shot creation sharing the floor at the exact same time. San Antonio is fresh off a 130-103 absolute dismantling of the Sacramento Kings, and the coaching staff is apparently deciding to keep their foot firmly on the gas pedal.
Starting Fox alongside Harper and Castle gives the Spurs a backcourt rotation that can outrun a sports car. Meanwhile, Vassell spaces the floor and Wembanyama continues to do things that break the laws of physics. It is the kind of lineup that makes opposing coaches stare blankly at their clipboards and reconsider their life choices.
For anyone holding tickets on player props, this distribution of usage is going to be a fascinating puzzle. Fox and Wembanyama are the obvious alphas, but figuring out who gets the leftover volume between Vassell, Castle, and Harper is going to swing a lot of fantasy matchups and over/under tickets.
The Utah Jazz get the first live look at this five-man unit on Wednesday night. If this group clicks immediately and builds on the momentum from the Sacramento blowout, the rest of the is going to have a massive problem on its hands.
