Ian Rapoport reported that both Nwosu and Emmanwori are listed as questionable but expected to go.

The defensive meeting room currently smells like IcyHot and sheer desperation. According to NFL insider Ian Rapoport, linebacker Uchenna Nwosu and safety Nick Emmanwori are both dealing with hip injuries and are listed as questionable, though both are expected to suit up.

Getting medical clearance to play is one thing, but actually chasing around the on a bad hip is a completely different assignment. When is coming to town, you generally want your defense operating with fully functional joints.

Nwosu’s medical chart is starting to look like a CVS receipt. After a pectoral tear wrecked his 2023 season and knee and thigh issues derailed the start of his 2024 campaign, he is now trying to push through this latest hip problem just to stay on the field.

Emmanwori is not having a much better time on the trainer's table. The safety just worked his way back from summer ankle surgery, left a recent game with a hamstring issue, and has now added a hip injury to his growing collection of lower-body ailments.

The rest of the roster is not exactly a picture of perfect health, either. Running back has already been ruled out, and veteran edge rusher DeMarcus Lawrence is also questionable with a knee issue.

Anyone looking at the betting lines for this Sunday night matchup needs to factor in just how compromised this defense really is. The Chiefs make a living out of isolating hobbled defenders in space, and a pair of linebackers and safeties dragging bad hips is exactly the kind of matchup they hunt.

We will find out exactly how much burst Nwosu and Emmanwori actually have once the lights go on. Expecting them to play is great news for the depth chart, but surviving four quarters against is the real test.
