Micah Parsons will not practice this week, per HC Matt LaFleur.

The are going to have to keep waiting for their defensive cheat code to boot up. Head coach Matt LaFleur confirmed Monday that will not practice this week, a reality check delivered straight to the timeline by ESPN's Adam Schefter.

If you were hoping for a miraculous mid-October return, it is time to put those dreams back in the draft. Parsons is still working his way back from the torn ACL he suffered in Week 15 of last season against the , an injury that forced him to open the 2026 campaign on the PUP list.

The timing is objectively funny, considering just finished handing Parsons' former employer, the , a 23-13 loss. Parsons getting to sit out and watch his current team dismantle the franchise that traded him away last August is the kind of low-stress rehab day most players would pay for.

But the Packers desperately need him back on the grass. Before his knee gave out last December, Parsons was putting on an absolute clinic. He racked up 12.5 in just 14 games, making him the only player in NFL history to hit the 12-sack mark in each of his first five seasons.

For anyone looking at the betting board, this means you have to keep treating the defense as a unit missing its apex predator. You cannot price in a pass rush that does not exist yet, so keep holding off on those aggressive defensive props until number 1 is actually cleared for contact.

ACL recoveries are not linear, and LaFleur keeping him off the practice field entirely this week means a return is not exactly imminent. Until we see Parsons actually putting on a helmet on a Wednesday, expect the to play it safe with their most important defensive investment.
