Adam Schefter just dropped the update has been waiting on for nearly a year. is finally slated to practice today for the first time since last December.

An ACL tear in mid-December is the NFL equivalent of a check engine light turning on during a cross-country road trip. You know it is going to be expensive, and you know you are not getting back on the highway anytime soon.

Parsons went down against the on December 14 and underwent surgery right before the new year. The knew they would be without him for the first chunk of this season, stashing him on the PUP list while he rehabbed.

Before his knee gave out, Parsons was putting up absolute video game numbers. In just 11 games last season, he racked up 10 sacks and an NFL-best 60 pressures. That is not just a good edge rusher. That is a one-man wrecking crew who ruins offensive game plans by himself.

Getting a guy like that back on the field completely changes the math for the defense. If you are looking at defensive props or team futures, inserting a premier pass rusher into the lineup is the kind of market-moving event that forces oddsmakers to adjust their models. You simply cannot simulate 60 pressures with a rotational backup.

The Packers host the this Sunday for a Week 9 clash. While Parsons might not be taking full game reps immediately, just having him back in pads is a massive boost for the locker room.

Expect the coaching staff to ramp him up slowly over the next couple of weeks. But the countdown to his official return to the trenches has officially started, and opposing quarterbacks should probably start taking notes.
