Jadeveon Clowney Returns to Texans Lineup Just in Time for Cowboys Matchup
Ian Rapoport: '#Texans veteran edge Jadeveon Clowney, questionable with a knee, is expected back on the field today, source said. He hasn’t played since the opener.'
The are finally getting some reinforcements on the edge, as veteran pass rusher Jadeveon Clowney is expected to suit up today for the first time since the season opener.
According to Ian Rapoport, Clowney has officially shaken off a questionable tag tied to a lingering knee issue.
Missing everything since Week 1 is the kind of absence that makes you forget a guy is even on the roster until he suddenly appears on the injury report like a ghost haunting the defensive line room.
The timing could not be better for . The Texans are hosting the today, and they desperately need a spark after dropping a miserable 19-17 divisional rock fight to the last week.
Getting a veteran edge setter back changes the math for the defense. If you are looking at team totals or quarterback pressure props for this Texas showdown, Clowney being active is a massive variable, even if he ends up on a strict pitch count.
The real question is how much juice the veteran still has in those legs after a month on the shelf. If Clowney can immediately disrupt the backfield, that Week 1 knee injury will feel like ancient history by the fourth quarter.
