Adam Schefter reported the Eagles will be without Jalen Hurts, and quite possibly Saquon Barkley and DeVonta Smith for Sunday's game vs. the Panthers.

Adam Schefter just dropped the kind of injury update that makes fantasy managers and Philadelphia Eagles fans want to throw their phones directly into the Delaware River.

Jalen Hurts is officially out for Sunday’s game against the Carolina Panthers, and he might be bringing Saquon Barkley and DeVonta Smith with him to the inactive list. If you are holding tickets or betting slips for this game, you are suddenly heavily invested in a preseason-level offense.

Hurts is dealing with a superficial blood clot in his calf after getting stepped on in Week 5. He actually practiced fully before an ultrasound shut him down, pausing a season where he has already thrown for 933 yards and eight touchdowns.

The supporting cast is not doing much better. Barkley is still nursing a right hamstring injury he picked up in Week 4 against the Los Angeles Rams, and Smith is dealing with his own lingering hamstring issue.

Taking Hurts, Barkley, and Smith out of the Philadelphia lineup is like removing the engine, the wheels, and the steering wheel from a car and asking the driver to win a street race.

The Eagles are already coming off a brutal 19-17 loss to the . Now they have to figure out how to move the football with a skill-position group that looks like it was assembled via a random name generator.

The betting lines for this Panthers matchup are going to look like a seismograph during an earthquake as the market adjusts to a Hurts-less reality. Philadelphia will spend the rest of the week desperately monitoring practice reports to see if Barkley or Smith can at least give them a pulse on Sunday.
