Ian Rapoport reported the one-game suspension following the Sunday ejection.

Head-butting someone during a football game remains the most objectively hilarious and physically illogical decision an athlete can make.

According to Ian Rapoport, linebacker Dre Greenlaw has been suspended for one game following his ejection on Sunday. The crime in question was a head-butt delivered to linebacker Ernest Jones IV.

Throwing your skull at another human is already a questionable life choice. Doing it when the other guy is wearing a polycarbonate shell designed to survive high-speed collisions is just bad math.

The 49ers still managed to pull out a tight 32-29 win over the Seahawks despite their linebacker deciding to play human battering ram. But the fallout from that decision is going to cost them next week.

Greenlaw plays with an edge, which is exactly why the defense is usually terrifying. There is a fine line, however, between setting a physical tone and handing the league office an easy excuse to dock your pay and put you in timeout.

Missing a defensive anchor shifts the math for the ' defense. That is the exact kind of roster hole that betting markets will absolutely notice when setting the lines and totals for 's next matchup.

The will have to plug the gap at linebacker for a week while Greenlaw serves his mandatory vacation. Hopefully, he uses the time off to remember that helmets are currently undefeated in head-to-head combat.
