Rams HC Sean McVay told reporters that WR Davante Adams ruptured his hamstring and now will be sidelined 6-10 weeks.

There are normal sports injuries, and then there are injuries that sound like they require a team of structural engineers to fix. According to ESPN's Adam Schefter, head coach Sean McVay just announced that ruptured his hamstring and will be sidelined for the next six to ten weeks.

A strain is bad. A pull is annoying. A rupture means the muscle essentially decided to clock out and leave the group chat entirely.

This is a catastrophic blow for a offense that was heavily leaning on their prized offseason acquisition. Adams has been earning every bit of that two-year, $44 million contract, racking up 30 receptions for 480 yards and four touchdowns before his leg decided to betray him.

The timing could not be worse for Los Angeles. The are coming off a brutal 18-16 slugfest loss to the , a game where the offense already looked like it was operating in quicksand. Removing a guy who averages 16 yards a catch from that equation is not exactly a recipe for a midseason turnaround.

For the betting crowd, this completely nukes the ' offensive ceiling. Anyone holding futures or relying on Adams for weekly player props just watched their tickets turn into expensive bookmarks. You simply do not replace a primary target of this caliber with scheme tweaks and good vibes.

Adams is no stranger to lower-body issues, having battled through various hamstring and toe ailments over his career, but a full rupture is a different beast entirely. A six-to-ten-week timeline means he is out until at least December, assuming the rehab process goes perfectly.

Now McVay has to figure out how to keep this passing game afloat without its primary anchor. If the cannot find a way to manufacture explosive plays in his absence, this season is going to get very dark, very fast.
