The NBA's October 28 Injury Report is a Masterclass in Load Management Absurdity

The NBA injury report for October 28 just dropped, and it reads less like a daily lineup update and more like the casualty list from a medieval siege. If you were hoping to watch a normal night of professional basketball, you might want to make other plans.

Entire rosters have seemingly evaporated overnight. The and Indiana Pacers are missing so many rotation pieces they might have to pull guys from the lower bowl just to run a legal 5-on-5 scrimmage.

Look at the sheer volume of star power sitting in street clothes. Anthony Edwards is out. is out. Chet Holmgren and Jalen Williams are both out. Kawhi Leonard being out is just a permanent fixture of the space-time continuum at this point, but losing this much young talent on a random Monday is staggering.

For anyone trying to set a fantasy lineup or navigate the prop market tonight, you are essentially throwing darts in a dark room. The Pacers alone have eight on the report, including Tyrese Haliburton as questionable. That mass exodus makes a lot of sense considering Indiana just got run off the floor by the Dallas Mavericks 121-105 a few days ago.

Over in the Eastern Conference, the Charlotte are missing Coby White and Grant Williams. To be fair, Charlotte just got absolutely nuked by the Atlanta Hawks 128-81 in their last outing. If you lose a professional basketball game by 47 points, a mandatory mental health day should be written into the collective bargaining agreement.

Keep refreshing your feeds right up until tip-off. With this many questionable tags and late scratches floating around, the few healthy guys actually suiting up tonight are going to be forced into playing 45 minutes just to keep the lights on.
