Andrew Nembhard is sitting out Monday for "injury management," which is the NBA's polite way of saying a player's body needs a mandatory software update.

For the Indiana Pacers, this is just another name added to a medical bill that already looks like a CVS receipt. With Nembhard out, the rotation gets even thinner, and bettors looking at Pacers props have to scramble to figure out who is actually going to touch the basketball.

Nembhard has been logging heavy minutes to start the 2026-27 campaign, averaging 32.7 minutes over his first six games. That is a massive workload for a guy who has previously battled through shoulder and calf issues to stay on the floor.

You cannot blame Indiana for being cautious when their roster is already a walking triage unit. With Tyrese Haliburton shelved for the year and guys like T.J. McConnell and Aaron Nesmith dealing with their own lingering issues, the Pacers are running out of healthy bodies in the backcourt.

Calling it "injury management" in early November is objectively hilarious. We are barely a month into the season and teams are already treating their starting point guards like vintage sports cars that cannot be driven in the rain.

Nembhard should be back in the mix for their next matchup, but until then, Indiana will have to patch together a rotation out of whoever is left standing. Keep an eye on the usage rates for the remaining healthy guards, because someone has to take those shots.
